Before joining Circular Berlin, I found the resources out there to learn about the circular economy were quite limiting. Thanks to this engaging network, I quickly expanded my knowledge on topics such as circular food and textiles, all while meeting local like-minded people. Being part of this community has been an enriching experience, personally and professionally!
I joined Circular Berlin some months ago and so far I have been quite impressed by the quality of the resources shared in the group! Conversations are well structured and communication is clear, and while it is an informative and dynamic environment, it isn’t too noisy or overwhelming, which can be quite helpful for beginners. I feel I am gaining some general understanding of the circular economy ecosystem in Berlin and that I have the resources and network to go to when I have more specific questions.
Circular Berlin is a place for meeting fascinating people who have lots of cool ideas and valuable experiences in making the Circular Economy happen. I found our project partners for an innovative circular economy training program in the Circular Berlin community, as well as our graphic designer for the final project report. Looking forward to the next collaboration to make cities more circular.
I joined Circular Berlin at the end of 2020 and my focus in the community is to support the construction team and projects. It is a very interesting mix of people: on the one hand it is a local organisation with emphasis on Berlin, and on the other hand many members have an international background with a huge variety of expertise. Within the first months of joining quite a few initiatives and projects have already kicked off. I’m looking forward to seeing how they develop in the near future.
Many parts working together is a beautifully inspiring and motivating force, and Circular Berlin is a manifestation of that force. To join others in the fight for CE, there is a reciprocal rhythm in our work where I am actively challenged as a professional while learning from the expertise of my teammates.

We are a non-profit association and rely on financial contributions – such as these – to be able to work on our activities. This financial support is dedicated to developing the topics of the circular economy further and to ensure their dissemination.
There are two main types of members: community members (individual and organisational members) and team members. The latter also has two sub-categories: Core and Experts.
Team members are actively involved in Circular Berlin's day-to-day activities, projects, and operational work. Community members, on the other hand, are not involved in this, they can learn about the circular economy, build up their skills, and increase their network within Circular Berlin. They are encouraged to take a proactive role, exchange and collaborate with the community.

A community member can become a team member when he/she wants to get more engaged in Circular Berlin's activities, by making a written inquiry to one of the existing Core Team Members.

Circular Berlin is run under Circular City - Zirkuläre Stadt e.V., a non-profit association registered in Berlin.
We are not an agency or consultancy, even though our way of working can be similar to it. Working across 3 areas mentioned above we aim to operate as a partner in the project, to ensure transparency and knowledge dissemination.
We aim to work as open as we can, sharing the results of our work, either it is the research project or cooperation with the municipalities, because we believe in this case we can reach a bigger impact.
You can call us a think tank with the ability to create and realize practical work with other partners.
