Looptopia: 48 hours of Circular Experiences in Berlin
From November 13.-15., Circular Berlin transforms our city into an open experimental space for the Circular Economy. We are moving beyond traditional consumption by anchoring circularity directly where everyday life happens: in neighborhood hubs, cultural venues, local businesses, and public spaces.
The challenge
While the transition to a Circular Economy is essential for reaching climate and resource goals, circular concepts often remain locked in expert discussions or niche communities. Circular solutions are often perceived as abstract or exclusive, making it difficult for citizens to adopt them in daily routines. Businesses, policymakers, cultural actors, and civil society initiatives frequently operate in isolation rather than leveraging cross-sector synergies. Consumption habits continue to privilege new products over repair, sharing, and value retention.
To bridge these gaps, Berlin needs an accessible, city-wide platform that connects diverse actors, showcase circular practices at scale, and turns sustainable habits into a desirable urban lifestyle.
Our Approach
LOOPTOPIA mobilizes the entire city through a decentralized 48-hour experiences that connects local communities, businesses, and decision-makers.
We take the Circular Economy to places where Berliners spend their free time—clubs, museums, cafes, and neighborhood spaces. Through hands-on workshops, repair stations, swap events, and artistic performances, we normalize regenerative behavior as part of the modern Berlin lifestyle.
We aim to highlight viable circular business models, life-extension practices, and local supply chains. By showcasing real-world success stories from Berlin, we prove that circularity is both ecologically necessary and economically viable.
We strive for collaborative spaces where citizens, businesses, and politicians can directly exchange ideas.
The Expected Outcomes
- 500,000+ Impressions achieved through a city-wide campaign
- 50+ Decentralized Events across all Berlin districts.
- 10,000+ Participants engaged across diverse demographic groups.
- 300+ Repaired Products and >2 Tonnes of CO2 Emissions Avoided.
